La Loma Motel

About Us

Owners - Santiago and Senora Campos

Santiago Campos is the son of the original owner Jose Campos who passed away in 1991. Santiago took over the Motel in January of 1992 and has worked on and renewed the motel, one room at a time.

Adjoining the motel property was a service station that was operated by his father, Jose. That building was converted into a Laundromat in 1998 and is now Santa Rosa's only Laundromat, "Mi Casa Laundromat," which features environmentally friendly Maytag washers.

In November of 2005 Santiago and Senora opened La Loma RV Park on the east side of the property. The RV Park has 25 spaces with long and level pull through sites, all of which have full hook ups.

Manager - Eddie Shields

Eddie has been at the La Loma since 1991, when he moved in after a fire destroyed his home here in Santa Rosa. He then started as a part time maid working for the late Jose Campos.

Since then Eddie, also known as "Eddie no Money," has taken over many of the daily operations here at La Loma and is quite a character as many travelers have come to know over the years. He has become a route 66 icon and has been mentioned in several books and magazine articles on the Mother Road. His name even appears in the credits at the end of the Disney Pixar movie, "Cars."
